( Rachycentron Canadum ) Identifying Features: Upper body dark brown with two white long tail streaks. Wide tail. Lower body light brown with white belly. Size: Average size is 20 to 50 pounds. All tackle world record: 135lbs 9ozs. Fishing Methods: Trolling natural baits, casting lures, spoons, drifting or anchoring with live bait, mullet, crabs, shrimp. Fighting Characteristics: Very tough opponent at all stages of fight. Incredible amount of endurance and stamina. Season: Best months are November through March but they can be caught all year. ( Coryhpaena Hippurus ) Identifying Features:Upper body green or electric blue. Lower body gold or electric silver. Size: Average size is 10 to 20 pounds. The dolphin catch size averages from 1 pound (a juvenile or schooly) up to a 50 pound bull dolphin. All tackle world record is 87lbs. Bright colorful fish. Size: Average size is 30 to 60 pounds. All tackle world record is 221 lbs. Fishing Methods: Trolling with dead or artificial baits. Flyfishing after teasing. Sight fishing, kite fishing or drift fishing with live bait. Fighting Characteristics: A spectacular jumping aerial performer with fast surface runs. It's established as a top sportfish. Season: All year with April and November being the hottest months. Food Value: Catch and release is practiced by true sportsman. |

Deep thick body with lower jaw slanted up. Size: Average size 75 lbs to 150 lbs. Juvenile tarpon range from 5 lbs. to 60 lbs. All tackle world record 283 lbs. 4oz. Fishing Methods: Flyfishing, spinfishing with lures, plugs, jigs or live bait, trolling with plugs, spoons, jigs and natural baits. Chuming, anchoring or drift fishing with live or dead baits. Mullet, crabs, shrimp and other local species. Fighting Characteristics: One of the greatest! multiple jumps with hard deep runs, a big tarpon may fight for hours. Bow to the silver king.
